A burst of color appears in the nearly barren garden. But she enters not alone. She is accompanied by an unwanted guest. The dandelion, with its burst of yellow, still, it is a nuisance. Like mosquitoes, the weed gives cause to contemplate its importance in God’s scheme of things. And like most things considered to be an annoyance, they are generally unwanted, aggressive and undesirable. Weeds, like some people we have known in our lives, by their very presence crowds out beauty and goodness. Or so it would seem. Because it is February I am able to tolerate the weed. Perhaps there is a lesson here.
