Amour

The truth about love is that it is not one spark, one kiss, one day, one memory. The truth about love is that it is glorious and painful. It is fleeting and enduring.

Is love a lifetime of sayings? “Never having to say your sorry” is how Eric Segal defined love. Paul told us in Corinthians that “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.  It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres”.  Shakesphere’s Macduff declared that “love conquers all.”

Perhaps love is what you don’t see, what is not spoken. Perhaps it is… Amour.
