A Devotion to the Precious Blood of Christ

Lord Jesus, lover of the whole human race,
you shed your precious blood for us on the cross
and renew this offering without ceasing on our altars
for us and for our salvation
Remember us in all our needs,
save us from the time of trial
and deliver us from the evil one.
You live and reign, now and forever.

March 25th – A Gift from the Sea

March 25, 2014

Anne Morrow Lindbergh’s – Gift from the sea is a treasure beyond description. One of the pearls from her book… “Woman’s life today is tending more and more toward ‘Zerrissenheit’. She cannot live perpetually in ‘Zerrissenheit.’ She will be shattered into a thousand pieces.” (this was written nearly 60 years ago)

March 24th – What You Will Never See on Facebook

March 25, 2014

Sharing all those special events

Lovely ladies and the handsome gents.

Flowers, sunsets and babies faces

Snapshots or videos of exotic places.

Celebrated meals and perfect profiles

The news of the day and those perfect smiles.

Facebook is how the world should be

All of us living in harmony.

Honestly, except for me, there is no bliss

Fatigue and stress — there is no kiss…

You’ll never see those

Or get that close.

Not that look

on your Facebook.

March 23rd – Up to the Mountain

March 25, 2014

Mountains and mountain tops are standard Biblical places to encounter God. And, course, the higher you go, the closer you get to the Lord.It really makes sense that to commune with God, you must step out of your world and go to the mountain.

Whatever your mountain is… church, a special room, the car, a corner of the natural world. But it has to be someplace where you have stepped out of your ordinary business. Today, I chose  to go “up to the mountain to pray” in order to meet God in the higher place.

March 22, 2014

in between the loneliness

and words that cut so deep

we see the face of holiness

that carries us to sleep
